I passed through Timaru and visited the Moeraki Boulders (see pics) on my way to Dunedin.
The boulders are very beautiful/eerie as they're almost perfectly round and stand out against the beach and surrounding cliffs. it's a pity it was a bit foggy at the time, but the whole of this stretch of coastline was breathtaking, and then you see the mountains and forests in the distance, round every bend.
I've only been here about an hour but I'm blown away so far. Even the campsite's special. It backs directly onto a stream with a waterfall and has direct access to a nature reserve.
The last two shots are of the street where I was waiting for a bus. Sure beats the view opposite Streatham Hill bus garage.
I'll try and get more pics of this place up real soon.
Looks like they had very bad flooding up in the North Island (Whangarei, where I was last week) over the last few days.
Must say a big hello and thanks to Tony, Sarah and Miriam for putting-up with me on Saturday. Top time. Nice house Tony!
